Camp brings endless opportunities for adventure, freedom, and fun. It gives kids the chance to explore the outdoors, make new friends, and immerse themselves in exciting activities and adventures. These lazy days of summer are filled with the thrill of discovery and the joy of creativity, whether it’s braving the ropes course or making a friendship bracelet. We have had the most amazing week with your children, and today may have been our best day yet! To start, it was a beautiful day - blue sky, a warm shining sun, and a light breeze whispering in the Carolina Pines. It was our last full day of activities, and campers and staff were giving it their all today! We had SO MUCH FUN!

After a busy and full day at camp, we all gathered on the land sports field to enjoy one of my favorite camp traditions- cookout! There is nothing better than playing frisbee with friends, hamburgers and hotdogs from a charcoal grill and cold watermelon on a hot summer’s day. The campers love the relaxed and casual atmosphere of cookout, and they are grateful for the opportunity to slow down to just hang out with friends. Tonight we had a surprise visit from Dolly’s Trolley, a famous ice cream truck with an ice cream flavor named after us…Highlander High Tide! This is what summer is all about…it really doesn’t get any better than this!

Favorite Details of the Day

  • Reflect at the Rock: This morning Ava reminded us to make the most of the last few days of camp by embracing opportunity. This time at camp is a gift, so we don’t want to waste a sinble minute of it!
  • Weather: Amazing! High of 80, low of 61. Somebody pinch me because it feels like a dream!
  • Meals: For breakfast we had belgian waffles, scrambled eggs, sausage, oatmeal, grits and fruit bar. Lunch was walking tacos and a salad bar. Dinner we had hot dogs, hamburgers, pasta salad, watermelon, potato chips and chocolate chip cookies!
