The Final Night

Mornings of focused reflection, days of adventurous discovery and nights of electric excitement have all come and gone as camp now finds itself gathered together before the final campfire. The sun sets one last time over Camp Highlander as the brotherhood of each boys camp cabin– built up over the past several weeks – reflects on the incredible times they shared together.

Fears were conquered as campers dared to climb the Crow’s Nest or roll a kayak or camp out in the wilderness. Goals were accomplished as brother encouraged brother and spurred each other on to greater things. Irreplaceable bonds were formed, and they grew, intensified and persevered through every challenge and every triumph. And now, at Closing Campfire, every boy is given the occasion to pause, look back and relish every last memory.

This is the magic of Boys’ Camp at Highlander – the opportunity to grow, mature and accomplish new things amidst a camp family that loves you and wants the best for you. With integrity, each camper has discovered a little more about who he truly is and who he wants to become. With sincerity, he is inspired to continue that growth in himself as he encourages those around him to do the same. With courage he dares to achieve, with honesty he remains humble and with faith he carries on, taking the lessons and values he learned at Camp Highlander with him.
