Our last full day of camp activities was an absolute blast, a fitting finale to an unforgettable session! From the moment the sun peeked over the horizon, our campers were ready to seize every last moment of fun on this Camper’s Choice Day. Laughter and cheers echoed through Old Forge as campers enjoyed their favorite activities and made lifelong memories with their friends!

Tonight we had my favorite EP of the session…Rock at the Top! I love everything about this EP! We host it outside on Tenny Top, which changes our typical evening program backdrop of the gym. It’s a 100% musical EP and the proof of how much everyone loves it was evident as I watched them sing along and dance in their seats! After almost two weeks together, we are comfortable around each other, unafraid to get up on stage, be silly and give it our all. Every single cabin performed a lip sync routine tonight and they had the best time doing it! I was so proud of each and every one of them, and I know that this night will be remembered for many years to come!

Session A has truly ROCKED, leaving everyone with hearts full of gratitude, heads full of memories, and a promise to return next summer for more adventures and friendships. Our time at camp this session has been nothing short of incredible. The love your children have for Camp Highlander and each other has been truly heartwarming. Bryan and I are deeply grateful to you for sharing your precious children with us. This is my last blog for the session, as I want to spend as much time as I can with your amazing children tomorrow. Tomorrow we will:

• take our panoramic photo
• pack up in the morning,
• enjoy dancing in the dining hall at lunch
• enjoy our last two activity periods
• have an awards ceremony
• eat dinner in the cabin with friends
• enjoy one final campfire of session A
• and fall asleep dreaming of the summer of 2025

Favorite Details of the Day

• Weather: In my 23 years at Camp Highlander, I can’t remember a session where we had more beautiful weather for two whole weeks! Sunshine and cool breezes were the highlight of our day today! It was super hot today, but the breeze came in after EP and cooled us all down.
• Meals: For breakfast we had biscuits, gravy, scrambled eggs, sausage patties, oatmeal, grits and a fruit and yogurt bar. For lunch we had a camp favorite, turkey and cheese ciabatta sandwiches, Miss Vicki’s kettle chips and a salad bar with fruit. Dinner was the best grilled chicken, rosemary potato wedges, roasted broccoli, homemade rolls, sandwich bar and salad bar. The disco ball went off and the dining hall went crazy!! Tonight’s dessert…Highlander Ice Cream Dream!
• EP: Tonight’s evening program was my favorite EP of the session…Rock at the Top! This is our lip sync night where cabins dress up to dance and sing along to their favorite tunes. We had everything from Justin Beiber to Taylor Swift to Bluey…even Santa came by with his reindeer to perform tonight! It was absolutely fantastic!
