Every off-season, as the days grow colder and shorter, we get right to work making updates all throughout camp. Some years we build brand new cabins or activity areas. Some years we simply renovate and refresh what already exists. And some years, we do a little of both! As today is the first day of spring (and we all know what comes after spring!) we wanted to March you right into summer with the first round of Old Forge Updates.
And it all starts with the Kamper Kitchen! We briefly showcased this renovation a short while ago, but we think you can really see the difference with some before/after shapshots. Check out the photos below to see just what else we’ve been up to!
Another update we’ve shown before is the brand new bridge just passed the Health Hut. We absolutely LOVE the new look and can’t wait to see a bunch of happy campers and counselors cruising right across!
Meanwhile, lucky number 13 (cabin 13, that is) got itself a spiffy new deck! We also closed off the walkway between the cabin and the bathroom, so it’s all one unit now!
Speaking of cabins, we’ve been busy refreshing a lot of camp, like cabins 7 and 8 which just got brand new beds and a fresh paint job!
And finally, the kitchen/dining hall! Most of you won’t even see these updates, but your tummies will be thankful for them! We expanded the storage space in our kitchen (for both dry goods and frozen/refrigerated items) and installed an all-new walk-in freezer AND an all-new walk-in refrigerator! Think of all the extra goodies we can keep in there! Yum!
Oh! And the milk room has some sweet new tile flooring as well!
That’s it, for now! Hope you enjoyed our virtual tour of camp. Stay tuned for the next round of Old Forge Updates!
