We know that preparing for summer camp requires a LOT of planning.

With that planning comes a myriad of questions - what to pack, what not to pack, what sessions to attend, how to get to/from camp, should I bring a neon-colored or camouflage bandana, and just how many pairs of socks is too many!? And while we can’t make every decision incredibly easy for you, that doesn’t stop us from trying!

That’s why we offer a chartered bus service for our Florida (Boca Raton + St. Augustine), Louisiana (Baton Rouge), Georgia (Atlanta), and Mississippi (Jackson) camp families. If you’re wondering how you’re going to get your child to and from camp, the Highlander Bus might just be the perfect solution! Preparing your child for their time AT camp takes enough planning, so we wanted to make getting them TO camp as easy as possible. We’ve broken down the basics for you below.

WHO:

Campers from Florida (Boca Raton + St. Augustine), Louisiana (Baton Rouge), Georgia (Atlanta), or Mississippi (Jackson) who are attending session A, B, or C. As always, safety and reliability are our top priority, so Highlander staff members are also on board, positioned throughout the bus to be close by in case your camper needs assistance. Each trip has two relay drivers to ensure safe and alert driving.

WHAT:

A chartered and chaperoned bus service (pricing varies by location and itinerary) from Young Transportation. Each bus comes equipped with air conditioning, on-board restrooms, reclining seats, electrical outlets, DVD players, Wi-Fi, and luggage service through FedEx. We also allow each camper to bring one backpack and snacks for the ride as well as cell phones and electronic devices. However, leftover food and electronic devices are not allowed in our cabins and will be collected upon arrival to camp.

WHEN:

Each Highlander Bus departs from its origin city the Saturday night BEFORE opening day for each session, makes stops/pick-ups through the night, and arrives to camp between 10am and noon on opening day. The bus schedule allows campers to sleep through the night and arrive to camp before lunch to join their cabin-mates for opening day activities. On the way home, each bus departs from camp the Thursday night BEFORE closing day and arrives back home between 10am and noon on closing day.

WHERE:

Florida (Boca Raton + St. Augustine), Louisiana (Baton Rouge), Georgia (Atlanta) and Mississippi (Jackson).

WHY:

Quite simply, we want to make camp as accessible as possible for as many families as we can. Plus, it’s an awesome way for your camper(s) to make new friends before they even get to camp!
