These tempting smells can only mean one thing… SOMETHING GOOD IS COOKIN IN THE CAMPER KITCHEN!
Highlander’s oldest landmark, our beloved Dalton Lodge, has been home to campers trying their hand at the culinary arts for decades. Our young chefs, regularly interrupted by hungry visitors and directors, will be furthering their skills in our cooking program this summer with the addition of an exciting new addition! Our brand new wood-fired brick oven will make its debut, providing campers a true gourmet alternative to our traditional ovens.
Classic camper kitchen recipes have never tasted so good! Just imagine fresh cheddar bay biscuits, peach cobbler and cast-iron cornbread coming out of a glowing oven fueled by a crackling oak fire. Traditional camp staples will be better than ever, but who in their right mind could own a brick oven and not make some world class PIZZA?!?! Homemade dough, local fresh mozzarella, hand picked herbs and other delectable ingredients will come together to make some pies that will make any Italian shout “That’s AMORE”!!!
