Let’s bring together the Camp Highlander family!
When I joined the Camp Highlander staff in the 1970s, I never imagined that decades later I’d still be here doing what I love. Over the years, I’ve had the honor and privilege of meeting thousands of campers and staff, many of whom I still keep in touch with to this day. As part of the Camp Highlander Leadership Team, I know I speak for all of us when I say we truly enjoy hearing from each and every one of you who make up the CH family.
You’ve probably heard by now that we’re having an alumni reunion on the mountain this coming September. Sure, we’ve had a few other alumni reunions in the past, both on the mountain and in various locations off the mountain. But this one is big. How big? HUGE. We’ve never hosted an alumni event quite like this one, so if you’re either camper or staff alumni and you were ever considering coming back to camp, this would be the time to do it.
Karl, Melissa, Mac, John and I have come up with an outstanding schedule that will surely bring you right back to those beloved days on Old Forge Mountain. We’ll have many familiar activities open and available for you to try once again, including the Blob, riflery, woodworking and more, plus new activities such as the brand new Discovery Course – it features over 25 different elements to challenge your strength, agility and balance, a free-fall mega swing and new DUAL ZIP LINES that span more than 500 feet!
You’ll wake up to the bell and follow a schedule just as you did at camp. We’ll have evening programs and campfire with the songs you know and love from back in the day. Plus, you’ll see old friends and share stories in which only Highlander alumni can relate.
Here are the details:
-

Come see camp as it is today! So much is the same, yet we’ve made so many improvements to make the CH experience better than ever! I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised how familiar it is AND how different it is!
One Love,
Gaynell
