Matthew was born and raised in North Carolina, growing up just down the road in the Brevard/Mills River area. He joined the Highlander family as a maintenance team member in 2006 and has played a crucial role in keeping our mountain home beautiful ever since! From routine landscaping like mowing and weedeating, to major renovations and rebuilds, Matthew has done a little bit of everything on Old Forge Mountain. His favorite part of Camp Highlander is the people - especially on opening day when bright and smiling faces experience the joy and magic of camp for the first time!
